Larvicidal and repellent efficacy evaluation of Calotropis procera against Aedes aegypti Linn and Culex quinquefasciatus (Diptera: Culicidae) mosquito species under laboratory condition

To evaluate the larvicidal efficacy of methanol extract Calotropis procera experiments were conducted against larvae Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito species. Third instar selected mosquitos species exposed to various concentrations (50-200 ppm) evaluated in laboratory. The morality observation was recorded at 24 hrs. After treatment. LC values leaf determined following Probit analysis. LC50 LC90 as 67.01, 95.92 138.49, 213.17 ppm, respectively. Dhoop candle containg active ingredient exhibited 80.00% 67.92% repellency mosquitoes, From results it can be concluded crude incorporating offers an excellent potential for controlling well repelling mosquitoes.
